JAKARTA (RambuEnergy) – PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali and PT Indonesia Power, units of the state-owned electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), are inviting companies to participate in the Selection of Partners for Independent Power Producer (IPP) Projects with the two companies.
PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PJB) and PT Indonesia Power (IP) are subsidiaries of PT PLN (Persero) with diversified businesses including power generation, operation and maintenance, and engineering, procurement and construction.
PJB and IP have received assignments from PLN to develop power plants under an Independent Power Producer (IPP) scheme while retaining a majority stake in each project.
“PJB and IP hereby announce the commencement of a competitive process to select suitable partners to develop, finance, build and operate one or more coal-fired IPP projects in Indonesia.,” PJB said in a statement.
PJB and IP will commence the partner selection process for up to seven (7) IPP projects, mostly mine-mouth coal-fired power plants, ranging from 200 – 600 MW in capacity, located in Sumatra and Kalimantan (Project Nusantara).
Each of the seven IPP projects has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with PLN to be fast-tracked for execution and implementation.
PJB and IP intend to hold road shows in Jakarta, Indonesia and select major international cities in mid-December 2017 to elaborate the details of the IPP projects, the opportunity for the potential partner and the selection process.
The road shows will also be a venue for potential partners to engage with PJB and IP and seek clarifications.
PJB and IP have appointed KPMG as a financial and commercial advisor to assist in the selection of partners for the IPP projects and the conduct of the road shows.
Interested parties, having experience of undertaking similar projects, are invited to express their interest to participate in the selection process and attend the road shows, by email to be received by PJB and IP no later than 3:00 pm local time on Dec. 5, 2017, with the following details:
