JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – PT Pertamina Hulu Energy Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ), an upstream oil and gas subsidiary of state owned energy company PT Pertamina, has started the Fabrication Phase for the development of SP field, marking by the ribbon First Cuting at the SPA Platform in Handil-1 Yard, Kutai Kartanegara in East Kalimantan.
The SP Field is located 11 kilometers to Southwest of Bravo Flow Station.
The total project cost reaches US$92.7 million, consisting of development of SPA offshore platform, installation of undersea pipeline along 11.3 km and modificaiton of offshore platform B2C as well the drilling of 3 development wells.
The project development applies the production sharing contract (PSC) gross split scheme.
ONWJ block is one of old oil and gas fields in Indonesia, with first production starting in 1971. The project was originally developed by BP, but then handed over to Pertamina.
Although ONWJ block is a mature field, it still manages to contribute production at 33,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and gas of 126.8 MMSCFD, thanks to upgrading facilities undertaken by PHE ONWJ, the operator of the block.
In 2017, PHE ONWJ expects the block’s production to reach 30 MMSCFD of gas.
The company has appointed domestic EPCI (engineering, production, construction and installation) PT Meindo Elang Indah to develop the project. Both parties have signed Project HSEE Charter as well as Contractor Safety Management System (CSMS) Pre-Job Activity to ensure safety development of the project. (*)
