JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) plans to open tender for the gas power plant, PLTGU Jawa 3 with capacity of 1×800 MW in the fourth quarter of this year, delayed from early plan of middle of this year, a company official said.
Director for Procurement of PLN SUpangkat Iwan Santoso said the winner of the auction will partner with PLN subsidiary in developing the project.
The power plant expects to receive gas from Jambaran Tiung-Biru field, which is jointly developed by Pertamina EP Cepu. Currently, PLN and Pertamina EP are in talks over gas supply, however, an agreement is yet to be achieved due to higher price of gas offered by Pertamina EP at US$8 per MBBTU at well-head.
PLN wants the gas price at US$6 per MBTTU at well head as it has to still pay toll fee of US$1 per MBTTU. PLTGU Jawa 3 will need gas around 50 MMSCFD to power its 800 MW capacity of power plant.
The power plant is part of the government’s ambitious program to develop 35 GW of power plant by 2019, although most likely around 19 GW are expected to be attainable by end 2019. (*)
