PLN prequalifies companies for Sumatera Solar PV, IPP projects

JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – State electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is inviting interested parties to take part in pre-qualification process for the development of the Sumatera solar PV plant and independent power producer (IPP) projects.

“In order to increase electric power suppply to industry, business and householders in Sumatera Island, PT PLN intends to select a project sponsor to develop the Sumatera Solar PV Plant project with total capacity of 167.58 MWp,” PLN said in a published announcement.

The projects consist of :

– Package 1 – Aceh Region with capacity of 20 MwP
– Package 2 – North Sumatera region with capacity of 35 MwP
– Package 3 – Riau and Riau Island as well as Bangka Belitung region with capacity of 38.68 MW
– Package 4 – West Sumatera region with installed capacity of 16 MwP
– Package 5 – South Sumatera, Jambi and Bengkulu (S2JB) region with capacity of 33 Mwp
– Package 6 – Lampung region with installed capacity of 24.9 Mwp

“The project will be implemented on a BOOT basis pursuant to the power purchase agreement (PPA),” PLN said.

The PQ process is open to interest parties, in the form of consortium, who will have previous experience in implementing power generation projects and will be selected through international competitive bidding process from a pool of applications that meet the PQ criteria.

The qualification criteria will be based on three categories, represent the applicant’s ability to develop IPP projects, its power generation experience and its financial system.

The selected applicant will be required to arrange the necessary financing and incorporate the project company in order to executive the power purchase agreement,” he said.

PLN said PQ documents are now available until June 2, 2017. (*)
