WIKA Beton eyes refinery, power plant EPC projects

JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (IDX:WTON), a subsidiary of state construction company PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (IDX:WIKA) is interested to take part in the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) of a number of power plants as well as refinery projects, owned by state energy company PT Pertamina.

To realize its move, the company is taking part in those project tenders, Director for Marketing of WIKA Beton Kuntjara said on Monday (Mar 14).

At present, said Kuntjara, WIKA Beton is bidding the Refinery Development Maspterplan Program (RDMP) Refinery Unit (RU) V Balikpapan owned by Pertamina. “We take part in the tender. We are chasing it,” he said.

In addition to the refinery project, WIKA Beton is also making preparations to take part in Tuban refinery expansion plan (TPPI). It also mulls a plan to take part in an EPC of New Grass Root Refinery(NGRR) Bontang.

As for this year, WIKA Beton targets to bag new contracts of Rp6.29 trillion, up 4.8% from previous year of Rp6.01 trillion. Of this projects, 30% contracts are expected to come from the energy sector.

So far, the company has secured contracts to develop a number of power plant projects, such as coal fired power plant (PLTU) Cilacap Expansion project, PLTU Tanjung Jati, PLTU Muara Karang Expansion and PLTU Lontar Expansion project.

The company secures project value of Rp125 billion for Cilacap first phase project, Tanjung Jati Rp50 billion, Lontar Rp40 billion and Muara Karang Rp30 billion.

In the first quarter 2017, the company expects to bag contracts value of Rp1.5 trillion, said President Director of WIKA Beton Hadian Pramudita. The projects are generated by a number of infrastructure projects, such as toll road including Kunciran-Cengkareng toll road section, power plant as well as other projects.

In this month, the company gets additional Light Rapid Transit (LRT) project construction contract worth Rp400 billion, linking Kelapa Gading-Velodrom with a length of 8 km. (*)
