Maritim Barito coal barging volume surges 24% in 2016

JAKARTA (RambuEnergy.com) – PT Maritim Barito Perkasa (MBP), a subsidiary PT Adaro Energy Tbk (IDX:ADRO) and a largest coal barging operator on Kalimantan island, said its coal barging volume for 2016 reached 38.49 million tons (Mt), representing an significant increase of 245 from 2015.

The company’s coal loading volume for 2016 reached 33.90 Mt, however, edged down 5% from 2015.

The company said it continues to prioritize volume from Adaro Energy. Adaro Energy’s coal volume accounted for 96% of Maritim Barito’s total coal barging and all of MBP’s coal loading in 2016.

In the fourth quarter, Maritim Barito recorded coal barging volume of 11.17 Mt, while total coal loading volume reached 8.99 Mt. (*)
