“The two working areas are located in Gunung Arjuno malang in East Java and Umbul Tromoyo in Semarang, Central Java,” Finance Director of Geo Dipa Energi M. Ikhal Nur was quoted by Media Indonesia as saying.
He said Geo Dipa expects the government to give direct award to the company to develop the two geothermal working areas. Geo Dipa expects to get financing from PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur, a state owned investment company, to fund the exploration activities.
He estimated the two working areas expected to have generating capacity of 150 MW each and investment of USD5 million per 1 MW.

Indonesia has the potential to develop 27,000 MW of geothermal power plants, however, so far only less than 5 percent of geothermal energy has been utilized, led by Chevron of US, as the largest geothermal producer in the country.
