JAKARTA (RAMBUENERGY.com) – Indonesia diversified energy company PT Pertamina has awarded contract to PT Rekin d for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) of Subsea Pipeline (SPL) and Single Point Mooring (SPM) as well as Flushing System Facilities for Refinery Unit (RU) VI Balongan.
The contact is valued at Rp1.067 trillion.
The SPL and SPM contract award was signed on late Monday (Oct. 10) by Director for Processing of Pertamina Rachmad Hardadi and President Director of Rekayasa Industri Jobi Triananda Hasjim, witnessed by President Director of Pertamina Dwi Soetjipto.
Rekind partners with InterMoor Pte Ltd in carrying out the project. SPL and SPM are subsea pipeline system that will receive crude oil.
Rekind and Intermoor consortium was picked as the winner after going through a tender process.
The project is aimed at improving the efficiency of RU VI Balongan, Indramayu, West Java and expected to be completed within 23 months. The SPM will have capacity of 150,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT). The pipeline will replace Pertamina’s aging offshore pipeline.
The SPM and offshore pipeline network will have capacity of 165,000 DWT, twin network of 32 inches offshore pipeline, onshore pipeline and flushing system facility, which are expected to increase loading and uploading activities.
Balongan Refinery needs larger capacity SPM and SPL as the capacity of the refinery will be raised to 300,000 barrels per day (bpd) from 125,000 bpd at present.
Rachmad Hardadi said the selection of Rekind-led consortium shows improved synergy among state owned companies.
Jobi Triananda said Rekind as the lead consortium will work closely with all stakeholders in order to ensure the project will be completed as scheduled. The project will integrate SPM, pipeline end manifold (PLEM), offshore pipeline, onshore pipeline and receiving facility technology. (*)
