JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business (SKK Migas) at the Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) expects Inpex, the operator of the Masela Block, to submit the revised onshore-based plant of development (POD) of Masela Block in the Arafura Sea in June 2019.
Vice President External Relation of SKK Migas Taslim Z. Yunus, said Inpex has made its commitment to submit the PoD in that timeframe. Assuming that the PoD is submitted by June 2019, the final investment decision (FID), which provides the detailed engineering and costs of the project, is expected to be finalized in 2025.
Inpex and its partner Shell need time to prepare the new onshore-based POD in the developing facilities for the Abadi Field within Masela block, he said on sideline of a discussion organized by the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) on Tuesday.
Recently, President Joko Widodo rejected the revised PoD submitted by Inpex to develop offshore processing facilities, based on floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG). The decision prompting Inpex and its partner to start all over again the PoD of the project.
Taslim said the operator is now preparing documents for feasibility study and front-end engineering design (FEED). (*)
