PLN prequalifies companies for supply of coal for Tanjung Jati B power plant

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – PT PLN (Persero) Pembangktian Tanjung Jati B, a subsidiary of state electricity company PT PLN, is launching prequalification process for companies interested to become a potential coal supplier for Tanjung Jati B Coal-Fired Steam Power Plant Unit 1 & 2 (PLN TJB 1&2) and Tanjung Jati B Coal-Fired Steam Power pLant Unit 3&4 (PLN TJB 3&4)/

The company said the selected coal supplier will be required to supply for operation of MCV Coal Operation for a minimum of 500,000 metric tons/annum and up to 2 million metric tons per annum, per supplier.

The  company requires an approximate calorific value on a gross as received basis (CV(gar) with standard value between 5,700-6,200 kcal/kg (gar), and rejection limit of <5,500 kcal/kg (gar), for delivery of a period of five years expected commencing from January 2017, as the tentative delivery schedule, delivered to Tanjung Jati B coal fired steam power plant unit 1 & 2 on FOB basis.

As for PLN TJB 3&4, the coal supply is divided into two categories:

Pacage I: Primary Coal

The selected coal supplier will be required to supply for operation of MCV Coal Operation for a minimum of 500,000 Mt per annum and up to 2.3 million Mt per annum, per supplier. The company requires an approximate calorific value on a gross as received basis (CV(gar) with standard value between 5,600-6,150 kcal/kg (gar), and rejection limit of <5,500 kcal/kg (gar), for delivery of a period of five years expected commencing from January 2017, as the tentative delivery schedule, delivered to the PLN TJB Unit 3&4  on FOB basis.

Pacakage II: Secondary Coal

The selected coal supplier will be required to supply for operation of MCV Coal Operation for a minimum of 500,000 Mt per annum and up to 1.5 million Mt per annum, per supplier. The company requires an approximate calorific value on a gross as received basis (CV(gar) with standard value between 5,500-5,600 kcal/kg (gar), and rejection limit of <5,400 kcal/kg (gar), for delivery of a period of five years expected commencing from January 2017, as the tentative delivery schedule, delivered to the PLN TJB Unit 3&4  on FOB basis.

The power plant units are located in Central Java. Interested bidders are rquired to register as supplier of Medium Calorific Value bituminous coal (MCV Coal).

The coal supplier will be selected through a competitive bidding process from a pool of applications that meet the prequalification criteria set forth in the company’s documents.
