JAKARTA (rambuenergy) – Indonesia’s Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) has set Coal Reference Price (HBA) in the spot market for the month of April based on Free on Board (FoB) at US$52.32 per tonne, up from US$51.62 per ton in March, or rose 1.35%.
The Coal Reference Price is based on the average price of four coal price index, namely 25 percent of Argus-Indonesia Coal Index (6,500 kcal/kg GAR), 25 percent on Platts Kalimantan 5,900 kcal/kg gross as received assessment, 25 percent on the Newcastle Export Index (6,322 kcal/kg GAR) and 25 percent on the globalCOAL Newcastle (6,000 kcal/kg NAR) index.
The HBA is based on 6,322 kcal/kg Gross As Received (GAR), total moisture of 8 percent, sulfur content of 0.8 percent as received (ar) and ash content of 15 percent ar.
The HBA is used to calculate the price of eight major coal brands, called HBP Marker. The HBP Marker is set to calculate the amount of royalty paid to the government on each kilo of coal. Following is the HPB Marker of the eight major coal brands:
– Gunung Bayan I : US$55.87 per tonne compared to 55.11 in March 2016
– Prima Coal : US$57.84 per tonne compared to US$57.13 in March
– Pinang 6150 : US$52.29 per tonne, compared to US$51.65 in March
– Indominco IM_East : US$43.06 per tonne, compared to US$42.50 in March
– Melawan Coal : US$43.25 per tonne compared to US$42.74 in March
Enviro Coal : US$41.60 per tonne, compared to US$41.16 in March
Jorong J-1 : US$33.45 per tonne, compared to US$33.09 per tonne in March
Ecocoal : US$30.87 per tonne, compared to US$30.55per tonne in March.
Apart from the eight major brands, the Directorate General for Mineral and Coal at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) sets the HBP Marker for 67 other coal brands, including Medco Bara 6500, Mandiri 1, Tanito Coal, Kideco Coal, and BIB 4000. (*)
