JAKARTA (rambuenegy.com) – State owned construction firms such as PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA), PT Nindya karya (Perero), PT Adhi Karya, PT Hutama Karya, PT Nindya Karya, PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekin), PT INTI and PT Len Industri have won contracts to carry out energy-related projects from the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry.
The project contracts were signed by the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) and contractors on Monday (Feb. 29). The total projects amounted to 24 units worth Rp3.04 trillion.
“These strategic projects will help the society to have better access to energy, including electricity and gas as well as evenly distribute access to energy,” the energy minister Sudirman Said.
Among projects that were awarded were gas pipeline network, solar power in eastern Indonesian region, community biogas project, micro hydro power plant and others.
The projects contract signing was witnessed by President Joko Widodo. The President called on the Energy Ministry to improve the realization of the projects to at least 90 percent, from just 64 percent last year.
The contract signings were the third batch of the projects. The first and second batches were signed in January and February 2016.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has awarded the projects much earlier than in previous year. In the past, often projects were awarded in mid year, so the executions were done later in the year.
WIKA, Ninda Karya and Rekin consortium won the contract to develop gas pipeline network in Prabumulih, South Sumatera worth Rp493.53 billion/
The development of gas pipeline network in Surabaya, East Java worth Rp 285.21 billion and gas pipeline network in Banten worth Rp62.2 billion were awarded to PT Hutama Karya, the gas pipeline network in Tarakan in North Kalimantan worth Rp 219.23 billion was awarded to PT Adhi Karya, while the development of some sections of the gas pipeline network to households in South Sumatera was awarded to PT Nindya Karya.
PT INTI was awarded to develop solar power plants in Southeast Sulawesi II and Central Kalimantan I worth Rp36.8 billion and Rp22.26 billion respectively.
PT Rekin was awarded to construct two pipeline projects Bekasi I and II worth a total of Rp 74.0 billion.
PT Len Industri won a contract to develop solar power with capacity of 2 MW in Manokwari, West Papua, PT Gerbang MN was awarded to develop solar power plant (PLTS), second phase, in East Nusa Tenggara worth Rp17.9 billion. (*)
