JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – Directorate General for New, Renewable and Energy Conservation at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) has shortlisted PT Pertamina, state owned energy company, and a consortium of PT Optima Nusantara Energi and Enel Green Power S.p.A, for the developmetn of Way Ratai geothermal working area (WK) in Lampung, Sumatera.
Pertamina got higher score (97.5) in term of financial condition, while the consortium scores higher in term of meeting the technical aspects.
Way Ratai WK is one of three geothermal WK that was auctioned by the energy ministry in December 0215. The two other geothermal WKs are Bukit Kili Gunung Talang in West Sumatera and Marana WK in Central Sulawesi.
The three geothermal working areas have the potentiality to generate power of up to 95 megawatts (MW) — consisting of Way Ratai 55 MW, Bukit Kili Gunung Talang 20 MW and Marana 20 MW. The total investment to develop the three geothermal areas are estimated to reach US$380 million. (*)
