Pertamina Gas says Porong-Grati pipeline project entering final phase

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state owned energy company PT Pertamina, said that the gas pipeline connecting Porong and Grati in East Java is entering the final phase.

The 47-kilometers long pipeline passes through Sidoarjo and Pasuruan regencies. “The EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) phase is now considered 85 percent complete,” Adiatma Sardjito, Pertagas’ corporate secretary said in a statement.

The project hit the ground in January 2015. He said said Pertagas has laid down 36 km long of pipeline and has been welded. The company hopes the pipeline project which uses 18 inches of pipe will be completed in second quarter this year.

The pipeline is designed to have capacity to deliver 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. Initially, the pipeline will deliver 25 MMSCFD of gas to a power plant in Grati. The gas will be taken from Peluang field developed by Santos. (*)
