JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – National gas distributor company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (IDX:PGAS) has unveiled its plan to develop 1,685 kilometers long of gas pipeline in the period of 2016-2019. The project will increase the company’s installed pipelines from 6,871 kilometers at present to 8,656 km in 2019.
President Director of PGN Hendi Prio Santoso said Monday that the development of gas pipeline is a move to increase the use of gas from domestic market.
In addition to developing the gas pipelines, PGN is also planning to develop 60 gas filling stations (SPBG) in a number of regions, such as DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Banten, Lampung, Riau, Batam and North Sumatera. In eastern Indonesia, PGN plans to build min LNG refinery system to supply gas in that region.
The additional pipelines will increase the use of domestic gas by as much as 1,902 million cubic meters per day (MMscfd).
Based on PGN’s calculation the additional gas pipeline will help customers of PGN to save around Rp88 trillion per year.
The gas pipelines are including the open access gas pipeline that links Duri, Dumai and Medan, open access transmission pipeline between Muara Bekasai and Semarang.
PGN’s pipeline is currently spreading in some parts of Indonesia such as Bogor (616 km), Jakarta (759 km), Tangerang (403 km), Bekasi (330 km), Sidoarjo (313 km, Suarabaya 493 km, Medan 627 km and others. (*)
