Indonesia energy ministry to sign energy project contracts this week

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM) has completed the tender of all projects to be developed in 2016 in December 2016. Following the completion of the tender, the ministry will sign contracts of the projects worth Rp7 trillion or  US$505.23 million.

The energy minister Sudirman Said sated that initially as much as Rp1 trillion worth of project contracts will be signed this week, followed by Rp6 trillion worth of projects in February. “This means that in January, the projects can kick off their development, faster than in previous year,” he told reporters at the State Palace on Tuesday (Jan 12).

He said the projects comprise of projects in various sub-sectors, namely electricity, renewable energy, water supply, oil and gas, mineral, coal and others.

The projects financing come from the 2016 State Budget (APBN 2016).

Majority of energy-related projects would come from private sector with estimated investment of Rp700 trillion this year. (*)
