Oil production of Banyuurip field in Cepu Block hits 130,000 bpd

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – Oil production of Banyuurip field within Cepu Block has hit 130,000 barrels of oil per day. The produciton was still below the government’s target of 205,000 bpd.

The government has earlier pinned its hope to reach oil lifting of 825,000 bpd for 2015, however, given the below production of Banyuurip field, the target is unlikely to be reach this year.

As a result, Indonesia’s oil lifting from December 2014 to November 2015 reached 94.3 percent or 777,000 bpd.

Dan Wieczynski, project executive of ExxonMobil Cepu Limited (EMCL) said the production has utilized the new central processing facility (CPF).

“The Banyuurip field is expected to produce a total of 450 million barrels of oil during the course of its production stage,” he said.

Banyuurip is producing oil from existing 45 wells, suppoted by one central processing facility, 95 km of online pipeline, one storage tank as well as loading facilities in the Java Sea.

In 2016, Banyuurip field is projected to contribute 20 percent of national oil lifting.

ExxonMobil Cepu Limited, the operator of the Cepu Block and PT. Pertamina EP Cepu hold 45 percent participating interest in the block, while four local government owned companies (BUMDs) — PT. Blora Patragas Hulu, PT. Petrogas Jatim Utama Cendana, PT. Asri Darma Sejahtera, and PT. Sarana Patra Hulu Cepu own the remaining 10 percent. (*)
