Jakarta Propertindo, Pertamina to build gas power plants

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – The DKI Jakarta provincial government through its owned company PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) has inked an agreement with state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina to develop two gas power plants (PLTG) to be located in Marunda, North Jakarta and Damar Island (Thousands Island).

The agreement was signed by DKI Jakarta governor Basuka Tjahaja Purnama, popularly known as Ahok, and Pertamina CEO Dwi Soetjipto.

“The development of PLTG is one of our priorities to meet electricity needs of people residing in Jakarta,” said Ahok. The gas power plant in Thousands Island will also support electricity needs of tourism and fishery industry in the area.

The gas power plant is expected to be completed within two years. The capacity of the two gas power plants is being evaluated, said Soetjipto.

He also added Pertamina is also yet to finalize the total value of investment to build the two gas power plant projects.
