PGN signs agreement to supply 60,000/m3 of CNG to industrial zone in Semarang

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has signed an agreement to supply 60,000 cubic meters (m3) of compressed natural gas per month to four industries in Wijaya Kusuma industrial zone, Semarang, Central Java.

The compressed natural gas will be delivered via truck to the four industries. The move is part of PGN’s move to add new customers in Semarang town as well as support its move to provide gas to 1 million households across the country.

“As a region with stable economic growth, the potential business developments in Semarang and Central Java is positive. Through the utilization of gas, the industries in the region can utilize more efficient energy, therefore improve their competitiveness,” the company’s corporate secretary Heri Yusuf said.

Industries and households use gas as burner, gas engine as well as for cold storage. Industries that have utilized natural gas in the region are food, metal and herbal producers.

In 2015, seven consumers have utilized CNG from PGN with combined capacity of 114,000 cubic meters per month or equal to 120,000 liter of diesel fuels per month. (*)
