PLN launches prequalification for 3 gas and coal fired power plant projects

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – State electricity company PT PLN has launched pre-qualifications for the development of gas fired and coal fired power plants located in West Java, West Kalimatnan and North Sulawesi province.

The potential sponsors will develop Jawa-1 Gas Turbine/Combined Cycle Power plant with a capacity of 1,600 MW (2×800 MW) located in West Java, 100 MW Pontianak Peaker Gas Turbine/Gas Engine/Combined Cycle Power plant in West Kalimantan and Sulawesi Utara-3 Coal Fired Steam Power Plant with capacity of 100 MW (2×50 MW).

PLN said for Jawa-1, the selected Project Sponsor will develop, finance, construct and operate the Project on a build-on-operate-transfer (BOOT) scheme, pursuant to a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) up to 25 years; finance and construct its associated 500 kV transmission line, which will be transferred to PLN as a special facility.

For Pontianak Peaker project, the selected Project Sponsor will develop, finance, construct and operate the project also on BOOT basis pursuant to a long-term PPA up to 20 years; and finance and construct its associated 150 kV transmission line, which will be transferred to PLN as a special facility.

As for Sulawesi Utara-3 project, the bid winner will develop, finance, construct and operate the project on a BOOT basis pursuant to a long-term PPA up to 25 years; and finance and construct its associated 150 kV transmission line.

Interested parties are required to register by submitting a letter of interest and collecting the pre-qualification bid document on May 18-29, 2015 during working hours. (*)
