Malaysia’s SapuraKencana bags pipeline installation contract from PGN

JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad, a major oil and gas service company listed on Bursa Malaysia, said that its wholly-owned subsidiary and its Indonesian partner has secured a contract worth US$97.5 million to install onshore and offshore pipeline project, the first of its major contract since opened its Indonesian office three years ago.

SapuraKencana said its subsidiary, SapuraKencana TL Offshore Sdn Bhd (SKTLO), formerly known as TL Offshore Sdn Bhd, in consortium with PT Encona Inti Industri of Indonesia, (TL Offshore – Encona Consortium), has been awarded with the contract for the Work of Offshore and Onshore Pipeline Installation in respect of the construction of Kalija 1 Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline of Kepodang – Tambak Lorok Segment by PT PGAS Solution, a subsidiary of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).

The award comprises of the transportation and installation of 14” x 200 km of gas pipeline from Kepodang field offshore to Onshore Receiving Facility. The work will be performed in the Muriah PSC, Central Java, Indonesia.

Local media has reported that SapuraKencana has deployed its SapuraKencana 900, a Heavylift and Pipelay construction support barge, for the pipelay project. The barge is equipped with an eight-point mooring system, a 1000ST (907MT) pedestal-mounted crane, helideck and accommodation for 292 personnel. (*)
