JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – PT Mitrabahtera Segara Sejati Tbk will allocate US$5 million in capital expenditure to buy two new tugboats this year to to strengthen its fleet.
Ika Bethari, Finance and Planning Director of Mitrabahtera, was quoted by Kontan daily as saying that one vessel with capacity of 2,400 horse power (HP) is bought this month, while the other one will arrive in second quarter of 2015.
Bethari said the two new tugboats will replace the existing small tugboats. The company expects to offer competitive rate by operating larger-size tugboats. The company expects to secure US$44 million contracts this year.
With the two new tug boat, the company will have 85 units of tugboats, 78 units of barge, 7 units of floating crane, 1 unit of cement vessel and 1 unit of supporting vessel. (*)
