JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – National gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) plans to build a 395-kilometer of gas pipeline linking Duri in Riau to Medan in North Sumatera this year.
Under the proposed plan, the Duri-Medan pipeline will be connected with the Grissik-Duri gas pipeline that has already been in operation since 1998.
Spokesperson of PGN Irwan Andri Atmanto was quoted by Kontan as saying that the pipeline network will be developed in two phases, with the first phase linking Duri and Dumai to be developed later this year.
The second phase, connecting Dumai and Medan will be developed pending on the availability of gas supply from South Sumatera and Jambi. (*)
