JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – State owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina has dispatched its very large gas carrier largest, called VLGC Pertamina Gas 2, to Ruwais, GasCo Terminal in United Arab Emirates (UAE) to pick up liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Director for Marketing of Pertamina Ahmad Bambang said the sending of the vessel is part of the company’s move to change the import delivery of its petroleum products from Cost and Freight (CFR) mechanism to Free on Board (BOD).
Pertamina claimed that the VLGC Pertamina Gas 2 is currently the world’s largest VLGC in the world. Earlier, Pertamina has also sent another tanker vessel MT Gunung Geulis to pick up crude oil in Algeria.
VLGC Pertamina Gas 2 is scheduled to arrive in Ruwais on Feb 24-25, 2015 and will transport around 22,000 MT of Propae and 22,000 MT of Butane. The tanker vessel is expected to arrive back in Teluk Semangka on March 7-9, 2015.
Apart from become an LPG Carrier, VLGC Pertamina Gas 2 also functioned as floating storage and mothership vessel.
