JAKARTA (rambuenergy.com) – PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, has completed the conversion of Arun LNG Plant into Arun Receving and Regasification Terminal, located in Lhokseumawe, North Aceh. The regasification terminal is now entering the commissioning phase.
Finance Director of Pertagas Roehjadi said the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) process of the plant is completed on time. The first cargo of LNG from the Tangguh LNG project, operated by BP Berau, has arrived on Feb. 19, 2014 with a volume of 119,000 m3.
“The construction is 100 percent completed, the plant is ready to enter the commissioning phase,” he said when receiving the first LNG at the plant.
The Arun Regasification Terminal was previously known as PT Arun NGL, owned by ExxonMobil. Pertamina then took over the plant and modified.
President Director of Perta Arun Gas Teuku Khaidir said in line with the plan, the LNG which is regasified at the plant will be delivered to state electricity company PT PLN’s power plants as well as industries in Aceh and North Sumatera. The gas will be transported by Arun-Belawan pipeline owned by Pertagas.
The Arun LNG Regasification Terminal project is designed to hold the capacity of 400 Mmscfd, equal to 3 million tons of gas per year. (*)
