PLN buys electricity from PT Len Industri’s solar power in East Nusa Tenggara

JAKARTA ( – State electricity company PT PLN said that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with state owned company PT Len Industri, in which PLN will buy electricity from a 5 MW solar power, to be developed and operated by Len in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara.

The PPA was signed by PLN’s General Manager for East Nusa Tenggara Richard Safkaur and President Director of Len, Abraham Mose on Friday (Jan. 9) in Jakarta.

The Kupang Solar Power (PLTS Kupang) project is located in Oelpuah village, Central kupang subdistrict, Kupang Regency.

The procurement of the project was done through an open tender, which was won by PT Len Industri. The cost to develop the solar power plant reaches Rp120 billion.

Based on the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry’s (ESDM) regulation No. 17, Year 2013, PLN is given tasked by the government to buy electricity from PLTS at a competitive price. (*)
