JAKARTA (rambunergy.com) – PT Bumi Sarana Migas (BSM), a member of Kalla Group, has offered the state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina to team up in developing an LNG receiving terminal in Pandeglang, Banten province in the western tip of the Java Island.
Director of Pertamina Yenni Andayani said that Bumi Sarana has made the offer in early 2014. Pertamina has welcome the offer as it is in line with the business plan of Pertamina.
“We have indeed had a target to build an LNG receiving terminal in the western part of Java Island,” Yenni Andayani was quoted by Kontan daily as saying.
Both parties may form a joint venture to realize the plan. Based on the initial discussion, the LNG receiving terminal would have a capacity to process 500 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, or equal to 4 million tons of LNG.
Yenni said the discussion is still ongoing and no memorandum of understanding has been signed yet. The amount of investment has yet to be determined. (*)
