JAKARTA (Rambu Energy) – State electricity company PT PLN said it plans to procure the Jawa 7 coal-fired power project (PLTU Jawa 7) in Bojonegara on Java Island with an installed capacity of 2,000 MW.
In a published announcement, PLN said the project will be procured as an independent power producer (IPP) through a competitive tender process.
Prior to holding the tender, PLN on Thursday (Nov. 13) invited potential bidders with prior experience developing large scale coal-fired power plant projects to attend an investor presentation for a description of the project.
PLN said it has appointed The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) as its transaction advisor to assist with the tendering of the project.
The investor presentation will be held on Nov. 20 (10:00-12:00) at The Dharmawangsa, Jln Brawijaya Raya No. 26, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakata.
The Joko Widodo government has set an ambitious program to develop power plant projects with total capacity of 35,000 MW over the next five years. Large portion of the power plants will be developed by private sector or independent power producers (IPP). (*)
