Pertamina EP Bunyu Field spuds B-1314 well to jack up production

JAKARTA (Rambu Energy) – PT Pertamina EP Bunyu Field, a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, is spudding B-1314 well in Bunyu Field, located in South Bunyu Field, Bunyu Subdistrict, Bulungan Regency, Kalimantan, aiming at jack up production from the field.

Dodi Supriatna, the Company Man of Pertamina EP Bunyu Field, said that the company uses Rig BKY04 with 1,000 horse power (HP), owned by PT Binakarindo Yacoagung, with target depth of 2,547 meters.’

Dodi  said he is optimistic that the drilling of B-1314 well will jack up oil production from the field. “We are working hard to increase production to 10,000 barrels of oil per day,” he said in the company’s website. Currently, the average oil production of the field hovers at around 7,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

Acting Bunyu Field Manager Edi Nofendra said to make sure the drilling activity is smooth, the company held public campaign with local community.

In the first semester this year, PT Pertamina produces 254,000 bopd, up 28.28 percent from the same period last year. However, the actual average production is still below target of 280,000 bopd set by Pertamina. (*)
