Astra Agro Lestari CPO sales up 10.8% in 2013

JAKARTA (Rambu Energy) – PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (IDX code: AALI), plantation subsidiary of PT Astra International Tbk, posted crude palm oil (CPO) sales of 1.58 million tons in 2013, up 10.8 percent from 2012 sales of 1.42 million tons, the company announced.

Last year, the company sold 1.56 million tons of CPO to domestic market and 17,500 tons to overseas markets. In previous year, the company sold 1.38 million tons to domestic market and 44,261 tons to export markets.

The data shows that the CPO sales to domestic market increased by 13.1 percent, while CPO exports dropped 60.5 percent from previous year.

In 2013, the company’s kernel sales reached 336,414 tons, surged 44.8 percent from previous year of 232,336 tons.

The average CPO selling price for the year was at Rp7,277 per kg, down 0.6 percent from previous year’s average selling price of Rp7,322 per kg. Kernel selling price fell slightly by 0.4 percent to Rp3,452 per kg from Rp3,465 per kg.

In the same year, Astra Agro’s CPO production increased 4.2 percent to 1.54 million tons from 1.48 million tons in 2012.

However, the increase in CPO production was not in line with the increase in fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production which reached 5.12 million tons or down 6.8 percent from previous year.

Meanwhile, Astra Agro’s kernel production increased slightly by 1.6 percent to 328,141 tons from 323,051 tons in 2012. (*)
